James Maclean
Managing Director
James Maclean is a passionate leader in the beef industry in Australia. He has 30 years’ experience in the beef industry – incorporating cattle breeding through to beef processing. James holds a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University in Sydney and a Diploma in Farm Management from Marcus Oldham College in Geelong, Victoria.
Grant Haddin
General Manager
Grant Haddin has extensive stock and station agency experience throughout Queensland and the Northern Territory in both the pastoral house and private sectors. His career in the livestock business has given him a chance to appreciate the importance of building and maintaining relationships and this is one of his strengths.
Michael Hassett
Chief Financial Officer
Michael joined Allied Beef in 2021 as the Chief Financial Officer. He has over 15 years’ experience in corporate finance starting at Shine Lawyers leading their accounting team for over 10 years through a continued growth period. From there he moved into the role of Finance Manager at Oakey Beef Exports and got his first taste of working in the agricultural/food production industry. Michael holds a Diploma of Accounting and Bachelor of Commerce and is a member of CPA Australia.
Sarah Parkinson
Office / Accounts Manager
Sarah Parkinson has been involved in the livestock industry all her life. Growing up in western Queensland Sarah worked for the family grazing business before moving to Toowoomba with her young family. In 2000, she completed a Bachelor of Business at the University of Southern Queensland. Sarah has been a part of the Allied Beef team since 2010 and has managed our accounts during this time.
Noel Barker
Manager, Yarranbrook
Noel Barker grew up on a fruit, vegetable and mixed livestock property on the Granite Belt in Queensland. He has 18 years of direct feedlot experience & has been at Yarranbrook for 4 years. Noel holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Science.
Ben Skerman
Commercial Analyst/Manager
Ben Skerman draws on operational management experience across private and corporate agribusinesses, including beef and grains. He has developed a strong focus on business systems, operational efficiency, and strategic growth. He is passionate about building scalable systems that drive productivity, profitability, and long-term success.
Marketing team
Peter Elmes
Area Manager, Western Queensland
Peter Elmes is a third generation cattle producer who runs his own Breeding/Backgrounding property at Augathella in South West Queensland in conjunction with his wife and two kids. In his role as Western Area Manager, Peter has continued to build a loyal client base of forward thinking producers, backgrounders and processors through his extensive knowledge of marketing, cattle procurement and his passion for the beef industry.
Bruce Sheppard
Area Manager, Southern QLD & Northern NSW
Bruce has over 30 years of experience in the agricultural industry and is based in Goondiwindi as Area Manager for Southern QLD and Northern NSW. He is known for building strong relationships, understanding client needs, and maintaining long-term successful partnerships.
